Safety Policy

ONLINE:
When you book a tour online, you will see a Booking confirmation page with Confirmation code, stating tour departure time and date as well as your name and number of participants. You can write down the Confirmation code, and that is all you need to show at check in. But the Booking confirmation page is also sent to you by email so you can print it out if you like.
VALIDITY OF PRICES AND DEPARTURES
Prices are in Icelandic Krona (ISK) as shown on our web site. Prices and departures are only guaranteed after full payment has been made.
CHANGES
All our trips and outdoor activities are weather and condition depended. Frozen Giants reserve the right to change your itinerary or cancel your trip with your safety in mind. If we are forced to cancel your trip due to factors outside of our control before it starts you will receive at least 80% refund of fully prepaid trip. If we are forced to change your itinerary at some point during your trip you may or may not be partly refunded for your tour, this depends on what trip you are on and at what stages that trip is. This refund is never more than 50% since in most cases the majority of our operating costs have already been realized after your trip starts.
CANCELLATION
All cancellations of tours must go through our office by email to info@frozengiants.com or SMS (Text message) to +354 693 5953, Frozen Giants reserves the right to keep 20% confirmation fee to cover costs. If clients cancel their tour more than 48 hours prior to departure, 80% refund will be given. If clients cancel their tour within 48 hours of departure no refund will be given. Note. We repay bigger part of the fee if the weather conditions are not allowing the trip, but we don’t repay the fee if the client is late, or doesn’t show up even if the weather is very bad, in case that we can do the trip. So, we recommend to stay in a hotel or guesthouse east of Skaftafell in Vatnajökull National Park, and west of the town Höfn.
INSURANCE
We advise all our clients to have insurance.
EQUIPMENT AND CLOTHING
All clients must be wearing proper shoes for walking in rough nature. Waterproof clothing on a rainy day and otherwise dress according to weather conditions. NOTE that in Iceland you can assume any kind of weather at any time. Frozen Giants takes no responsibility on damaged clothing.
DISCLAIMER
All Frozen Giants tours are undertaken on the responsibility of its participants. Frozen Giants does not assume any responsibility for accidents that are caused or can be traced to customer’s own actions or recklessness.
Participant in our tours must always comply with guides instructions for their own safety.
LIABILITY
No responsibility is accepted for losses, expenses due to delays, changes of flights, closed roads or other services or because of strikes, accidents, sickness, damage, negligence, weather, war, changes in bus schedules, or other similar causes. Frozen Giants does not assume responsibility for accidents or death that can be traced to the participant´s negligence, acts of third parties or exterior circumstances such as weather, natural occurrences, war or other similar causes.
LEVELS OF DIFFICULTY
Every trip is labelled in terms of difficulty, easy, medium, medium/hard or hard.
EASY: None, or a light walk for a couple of kilometers.
MEDIUM: Light walk for up to five kilometers on uneven grounds.
MEDIUM/HARD: Walk up to ten kilometers on rough and sloping landscape.
HARD: Walk and/or climbing in steep mountain and glacier areas up to few hours on foot.
Read and acknowledge the difficulty label on the tour that you book.

RESTRICTIONS
The following restrictions apply to children wishing to participate in our trips:
If participants are under age, authorization to participate has to be confirmed by a guardian.
Glacier Walk: The age limit is 10 years old.
Summer Glacier Adventure Tour: The age limit is 14 years old.
Ice Cave Tours: The age limit is 10 years old.
